Aerosol Drug Delivery with Aerogen During Non-Invasive Ventilation: Patients with COPD

Crossover study involving 9 stable patients with moderate-to-severe COPD randomly assigned to receive aerosol administration.
Group 1: NIV + Aerogen
Group 2: NIV + jet Nebulizer
Primary outcome was radioaerosol inhaled into the lungs
~4x more medication was delivered to the lungs using Aerogen during Non-Invasive Ventilation compared to a jet Nebulizer in patients with moderate-to-severe COPD.
